The Company is looking for a highly skilled and experienced Fullstack Web Developer to maintain and elevate our company websites built on the WordPress platform. Reporting to the Director, Web Strategy & Development, this role will be responsible for setting the technical direction and executing both front-end and back-end development.

The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of responsive design, cross-browser compatibility, and performance optimization in delivering exceptional user experiences, and will proactively shape the roadmap for continuous website innovation and scalability.

Essential Functions:

• Lead complex website development initiatives from conception through deployment.
• Define technical requirements and architecture for new web capabilities, collaborating cross-functionally to ensure scalable, maintainable solutions.
• Design, develop, and maintain custom WordPress theme and plugins.
• Troubleshoot and debug complex issues related to WordPress core, theme, and plugins.
• Manage version control using Git and follow best practices for code deployment.
• Manage WordPress updates, backups, and migrations.
• Optimize website performance, security, and SEO.
• Evaluate and implement third-party integrations that enhance platform capabilities and scalability.
• Integrate third-party APIs and services as needed.
• Collaborate with design, content, and marketing teams to implement new site features and updates.
• Coordinate and collaborate with IT, when needed.
• Establish and continuously improve documentation and technical standards, mentoring others in best practices and development workflows.
• Ensure processes, issues and features are clearly documented and communicated to team members and stakeholders.
• Ensure websites meet responsive design and accessibility standards, optimizing user experience across various devices and assistive technologies.
• Ensure cross-browser compatibility and responsive design standards.
  Stay up to date with the latest WordPress trends, updates, and industry best practices.

Qualifications/Skills:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related f ield preferred.
• 8-12 years of experience as a fullstack developer, including extensive experience with WordPress and a strong portfolio of end-to-end website solutions.
• Extensive knowledge of WordPress core, themes, and plugin development.
• Experience with WordPress custom block development (Gutenberg) and popular plugins (e.g., Gravity Forms, ACF, Yoast).
• Knowledge of WordPress SEO best practices.
• Familiarity with WordPress security best practices.
• Proficiency in PHP, MySQL, HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript (including jQuery and modern JS frameworks).
• Experience setting up and managing local development environments with modern frontend build tools like Webpack, Gulp, or Vite.
• Experience with version control systems, especially Git.
• Familiarity with REST API and integrating third-party APIs.
• Strong understanding of website performance optimization techniques.
• Solid understanding of responsive web design principles, including mobile-first development practices.
• Knowledge of accessibility standards and best practices.
• Ability to write clean, well-documented, and maintainable code.
• Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments is a bonus.
• Understanding of DevOps tools and CI/CD pipelines is a plus.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, adept at conveying complex technical concepts to diverse audiences.
• Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Demonstrated experience leading web development strategy and mentoring others in modern development practices.
